LANCE M. SAKURADA

Actuarial Analyst

Provides property and casualty, accident and health, and life insurance actuarial, technical, and auditing services. Works with the Consulting Actuaries in conducting feasibility, reserve, and ratemaking analyses for insurance entities and self-insured groups; and in conducting actuarial analyses for state insurance departments (risk-focused actuarial examinations, rate filing analyses, captive and risk retention group application reviews, and receivership evaluations). Responsibilities include gathering, reconciling, auditing, and analyzing loss and loss adjustment expense data; developing spreadsheets; testing reserve factors; researching underlying issues; performing analytic procedures; completing actuarial calculations and routine reviews; technically reviewing actuarial spreadsheets; and preparing actuarial exhibits, workpapers, reports, and opinions.

Began working for Taylor-Walker on November 1, 2018. Provides actuarial assistance during reserve and ratemaking analyses for our industry clientele, and during risk-focused actuarial examinations and captive application reviews.

Previously, Mr. Sakurada was employed as a Research Analyst at Argos Business Innovations, LLC and as a Financial Representative at Northwestern Mutual. At Argos, Mr. Sakurada researched and analyzed technical data for military aircraft parts; created a dashboard to present employee efficiency using Microsoft Excel; and communicated solutions to processing engineers and planners. At Northwestern Mutual, Mr. Sakurada created comprehensive analyses for individuals and businesses; gained extensive knowledge in various insurance and retirement vehicles; and mentored interns.

Mr. Sakurada is proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, SQL, SAS, R, and C++. He has passed the Probability and the Financial Math actuarial examinations.
